JASNA Southwest is entirely run by volunteers, and we can always use additional help.
Whether you’re interested in an ongoing role, such as coordinating a reading group or filling a need on the board, or if you just want to help out at a specific event, we welcome your participation.
Below, you can explore just a few of the ways you can volunteer with JASNA Southwest.
Reading and Game Groups
- Organize and/or host a new reading, film or game group in your area

- Encourage friends to join JASNA Southwest
- Spread the word about an upcoming event

Los Angeles Times Festival of Books (annually, in April)
- Coordinate other volunteers
- Greet and engage visitors
- Assist with setup and decorating
- Help break down the booth at the end of the festival

Communications Support
- Submit stories and photos for the newsletter, website and/or social media
- Report broken links or content that needs updating
- Help build our archive of early JASNA Southwest newsletters and event programs and photos

JASNA Southwest Board
- Fill a vacancy (currently: educational outreach)
- Provide specialized support such as fundraising
