Although Austen only wrote 12 chapters of Sanditon, a 28-episode multiplatform series has fleshed out the story and an eight-part miniseries for ITV (UK) and MASTERPIECE on PBS, adapted by Andrew Davies, aired in the UK in fall 2019 and the U.S. in early 2020. Davies is well-known to Janeites for his adaptation of Pride and Prejudice (1995) with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. He also has adapted versions of Emma, Northanger Abbey and Sense and Sensibility.
