Register now for our next free Zoom meeting, Saturday, November 14, from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Pacific time on Regency fashion.
JASNA Southwest board member Jane Boltz will share images and inspirations behind the numerous Regency-style outfits she has made over the years, including hats and reticules. She will also provide a general overview of changes in fashion from 1790 through 1820.
She has titled her talk “Exploring Regency-Era Fashions for Women and Men by a Prejudiced and Amateur Seamstress” in homage to Jane Austen’s “A History of England by a Partial, Prejudiced and Ignorant Historian,” which is part of the Juvenilia. Boltz says she is “prejudiced” in her desire to create Regency clothing that will flatter her.
After the presentation, she will share a list of her patterns, fabric sources and sewing tools (accessible to any interested attendees via JASNA Southwest’s website).
